John Rooth, aka Roothy, is Australia’s Godfather of off-roading. He had a popular TV show for years and then a popular DVD series and he’s all about challenging Australians to get out and explore their beautiful countryside. To say he’s well versed in 4wd and wheeling would be a serious understatement. So when I saw the latest Roothless Tales video on YouTube where Roothy side-by-side tested a 1942 Jeep with a 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK I was ecstatic! What will the big man say about the progression of 75 years of automotive engineering? This will be a two-part series so stay tuned for when Roothy really puts the JK Wrangler to the test!

The Evolution of the Jeep 4×4 video by Donut Media is a cool way to see just how much the Jeep has changed over the years, but also how it has stayed the same. When you think about cars like the Chevy Malibu or Impala for instance, it’s like those good looking celebrities that go all in on plastic surgery and become unrecognizable in their old age. But the Jeep stays true to its roots and just gets more refined, more capable, and better for the daily drive.

What I like about this Jeep video from Donut Media is seeing the size changes but also just how much power we have gained over the years. I have a 2006 Jeep TJ SE with the 4-cylinder motor and have always been bummed about the lack of raw power, but then I saw the horsepower numbers on those older models and I feel like a king! In fact, I am surprised during a lot of the muscle car eras that Jeep kept the CJ power numbers so low. Anyways, give this video a quick view. It’s a cool visual timeline of our favorite brand.

Check out this dope 1966 Jeep Gladiator in what I have to assume is India. The Jeep Gladiator was one of the first post-war U.S. Army trucks designed to be civilian vehicles and adapted to military use and this dude has his customized to the hilt! It’s cool to see people around the world loving their Jeeps and making them their own, and that’s what we are all about! What I like you might not and that is ok! This dude has the outside looking like an old Land Rover and the inside looking like a new Range Rover and the best part if the shagging couch in the back with the Karaoke setup! This dude must rule his ‘hood in his 1966 Jeep Gladiator! Check out the video and images below.
