Jeep Daily Driver will be an ongoing series where we meet and interview real Jeep owners and learn more about their builds and what makes them tick. This week’s interview is with @FitLeahK, a fitness coach and JKU owner from Colorado whom I met on Instagram. If you’d like to share your Jeep with the community, please hit us up on Instagram @jeepdailyblog. Thanks to Leah for being the first one to share her Jeep with us!

JD: What’s the year and model of your Jeep?

@FitLeahK: 2013 JKU Rubicon with the 3.6L V-6,  6-speed automatic transmission and 4:10 axle ratio.

JD: That’s a very thorough answer! How long have you owned it and why did you buy your Rubicon?

@FitLeahK: I have owned my Jeep since December 2016. I wanted a JKU for many years and was finally able to purchase my dream vehicle! My favorite color is Black and I have always loved the look of the black JKU’s.

JD: Are you a first time Jeep owner or have you had others before?

@FitLeahK: This is my first Jeep!

JD: What is your favorite type of off-roading and where do you go?

@FitLeahK: MUDDING!! Getting the Jeep dirty is hands down one of my favorite things to do. It’s a rare occurrence when the Jeep is actually clean!

JD: What’s your current mods list? We want to know EVERY SINGLE ONE!

@FitLeahK: Steel front and rear bumper with red D-rings, front and rear steel light covers, 2.5” Rough Country lift kit, 33” Mickey Thompson MTZ tires, 17” Fuel Off-Road Krank wheels, LED Halo lights, ICars black powder coated steel gas cap cover, AntennaX off-road (13-inch) Antenna, FunLove Aluminum front and back door grab handle inserts, Teraflex 4838130 Adjustable Tire Mount Kit, and Bestop Trektop.

JD: That’s a great list! What mod do you think every Jeep owner needs?

@FitLeahK: A lift!! If you really want to use the Jeep for off-road purposes, you’re definitely going to need a lift in order to get over some large rocks!

JD: What’s a dream trip in your Jeep and have you taken it?

@FitLeahK: My boyfriend and I have been dreaming of taking a trip across the country in the Jeep, hitting up multiple trails and sightseeing along the way. I’d love to add some sand dunes to the list, as well as Moab!

JD: If you take that trip, we want the route info. It sounds awesome. What’s a dream mod for your Jeep?

@FitLeahK: That’s a hard question, because I have about 10 things on my to-buy list. Right now I’d love to get a hold of some Smittybilt XRC fenders!

JD: You are a very positive force on Instagram and it looks like you are working a lot with other women. Can you tell us about that?

@FitLeahK: Yes! I help other people reach their health, fitness, and business goals. I personally help a lot of women get started with their health/fitness journey, and I mentor other women who want to be their own boss or make additional side income. I am surrounded by such uplifting, positive women. I was going to school for my PhD in Carbohydrate Chemistry, but I left it to pursue my dream of coaching/mentoring others. It’s my dream job!

JD: Your posts make me very aware of the last time I visited a gym, lol. What would you tell someone who is on the fence about getting into shape?

@FitLeahK: I used to be in that same position! I didn’t start my own fitness journey until just 3 years ago. Before then, I didn’t know why I was always so exhausted, why I was tired no matter how much I slept, and why I had brain fog and mood swings. Little did I know that changing my nutrition regimen and staying active for 30 minutes a day was going to flip my entire world around! I suddenly had focus, my cravings for bad foods were dramatically reduced, and I felt so great that I wanted to pass on what I learned to others! The hardest part is always starting, but once you get into your routine and stay consistent, you won’t want to go back to your old ways.

JD: (Puts half-eaten candy bar down) How would you like people to get in contact with you to learn more about your fitness program?

@FitLeahK: I can be reached through my Instagram, @FitLeahK

JD: Thanks so much for taking the time to showcase your Jeep build and let us learn to be a little less lazy! If you’re on Instagram make sure you give @FitLeahK a follow and be ready for some positive vibes and beautiful shots of the Colorado mountains! Thanks Leah!
