How to Remove the Doors on 2018 Jeep Wrangler

Good news! You can still remove the doors on the 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL. Here’s how you do it!

How to Remove Your Front Doors

  • You need a #T40 Torx Driver and a #T50 Torx Driver
  1. Roll down window glass so you don’t hit it on something and break it
  2. Remove the hinge pin screws from the upper and lower outside hinges (#T50 Torx head driver)

3. Remove the check screw from the center door check (Use a #T40 Torx Head Driver)

4. Remove the plastic wiring access door under the instrument panel by sliding the plastic panel along the door frame toward the seats until the tabs are detached (Do not pry back to open – this will break the plastic cover)

5. Pull up the red locking tab to unlock the wiring harness

6. Push and hold down the black security tab under the wiring harness, and lift the harness into the open position

7. With the wiring harness open, pull downward on the wiring connector in the lower door basket

8. With the door open, lift the door to clear the hinge pins from their hinges and remove the door

PRO TIP – DON’T LOSE YOUR FREAKING SCREWS!!! PUT THEM IN A SAFE PLACE.

How to Remove your Rear Doors on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

1. Roll down window glass so you don’t hit it on something and break it

2. Remove the hinge pin screws from the upper and lower outside hinges (#T50 Torx head driver)

3. Remove the check screw from the center door check (Use a #T40 Torx Head Driver)

4. Slide the front seats fully forward

5. Pry open and remove the plastic wiring access door from the bottom of the B-pillar

6. Unplug the wiring connector (squeeze the tab on the base of the wiring harness. This will unlock the connector tab, allowing the wiring connector to be unplugged.

7. With the door open, lift the door to clear the hinge pins from their hinges and remove the door.
